Adhuwaihrah: As part of Diriyah Season 25/26 programs, the Al-Huwayett Program launched today in the historic Adhuwaihrah District, one of Diriyah's most prominent heritage districts. Known for its cultural and educational character, the district has played an important role in shaping Diriyah's urban landscape since its earliest days.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the program, which welcomes visitors daily from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., offers a unique opportunity to connect the new generation with Diriyah's values and traditions through cultural and entertainment experiences. These experiences present Saudi heritage and culture in an educational, interactive, and innovative manner, while strengthening bonds between children and their families through a variety of activities in an environment that brings all ages together in a spirit of joy and belonging.
Adhuwaihrah District stands as a complete model of harmony between education and community engagement. Its landmarks and mosques, foremost among them the historic Adhuwaihrah Mosque, reflect its deep-rooted history and its role in preserving authentic Najdi heritage. The program conveys this legacy, drawing inspiration from the spirit of a neighborhood long known as a lively and vibrant space closely tied to educating young people and developing their abilities.
As part of the interactive experiences it offers, Al-Huwayett features five main zones designed as a complete journey reflecting stages of life in Diriyah. The journey begins in the 'Family Alley,' an open space for play and relaxation. It then moves to 'Al-Mawten' (Homeland), where children learn about decision-making and the art of building Najdi-style homes.
In 'Al-Faydah' (Growth Oasis), visitors take part in an authentic agricultural experience that reflects Diriyah's spirit of growth and prosperity through planting the land, caring for palm trees, and learning about local animals. 'Al-Nahdah' (Community and Trade) brings to life the vibrancy of daily life and traditional trade through an interactive experience that blends imagination with cultural discovery.
The journey concludes in 'Al-Hisn' (Strength and Unity), an interactive maze that encourages teamwork and develops thinking and problem-solving skills in a fun and challenging environment. In addition, Al-Huwayett offers a unique space that blends interactive play, adventure, and authentic traditions. The setting incorporates architectural elements inspired by Diriyah's distinctive identity, enhanced by sound and light displays that enrich the visual experience and open a world of discovery and wonder for visitors.
The Al-Huwayett Program aims to enhance awareness of Diriyah as a global cultural and tourism destination and to transform local heritage into a fully integrated educational and entertainment experience.
