Kuwait City: Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed Al-Hogail headed the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s delegation to the 28th meeting of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Ministers of Municipal Affairs, which was held in Kuwait City.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the meeting was chaired by the Kuwaiti Minister of State for Municipal Affairs and Housing Affairs Eng. Abdullatif Al-Meshari. It was attended by the Assistant Secretary-General for Economic and Development Affairs at the General Secretariat of the GCC, Khaled Ali Al-Sunaidi, along with ministers and officials from member states.

The participants discussed several significant topics in the municipal field, focusing on the follow-up to the implementation of previous Ministerial Council decisions. These included developing the urban environment, updating the GCC building code, and strengthening municipal legislation and oversight mechanisms.

Furthermore, the meeting reviewed the joint GCC municipal action plan for the years 2024-2030, aiming t
o achieve sustainable urban development across GCC countries.
