Riyadh: The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced today the postponement of the first-leg matches of the Round of 16 in its continental competitions, which were scheduled to take place this week in the Middle East, due to the escalation of military attacks and geopolitical tensions in the region. According to Saudi Press Agency, the AFC stated that the decision includes the postponement of several matches across its three continental competitions, including the AFC Champions League Elite. It noted that matches in the West region of the continent scheduled for March 2-3, 2026, will be rescheduled in light of developments in the Middle East. AFC added that it will continue to monitor the evolving situation closely and remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all players, teams, officials, and fans.
