Abha International Airport Sets New Single-Day Flight Record

Abha: Abha International Airport, one of the airports operated by Cluster2 Airports, set a new record for the highest number of flights handled in a single day after recording more than 130 flights on July 5. The cluster said the total included 117 domestic flights and 15 international flights, marking the highest daily operational figure in the airport's history.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the rapid growth at Abha International Airport reflects increasing travel demand and the efficiency of its operational system in handling peak-season traffic. This growth is supported by the region's growing calendar of events and its natural and cultural attractions, which draw increasing numbers of visitors during the summer season.

The cluster affirmed that these figures contribute to achieving the objectives of the Aviation Program under the National Transport and Logistics Strategy, which aims to expand airport operational capacity and improve service quality in line with the highest standards.
