The National Security Agency arrested today a suspect impersonating a consultant at the Prime Minister's Office in Baghdad.
The agency stated in a statement: "Intelligence information indicated that a person from Babylon Governorate impersonated several governmental capacities, including the status of working as a consultant in the office of the Prime Minister, and that he carried out fraud operations against innocent citizens in order to obtain sums of money after deceiving them by promoting their applications related to employment or pending transactions."
It added: "Judicial approvals were obtained, as a result of which a tight ambush was set up for the accused in al-Mansour district of Baghdad and he was arrested in accordance with the provisions of Article (456)" pointing out that "the accused was referred to the judicial authorities to receive his just punishment in accordance with the law."
