Riyadh: The Saudi Competitiveness and Business Center's (SCBC) unified electronic Public Consultation Platform, Istitlaa, has put forward 32 projects related to economic and development affairs, in cooperation with 19 government entities. The platform enables stakeholders to share their feedback and proposals on the projects before their approval.
According to Saudi Press Agency, projects presented on the platform include the Public Security Directorate's 'Proposed Amendment Project to the Executive Regulations of the Traffic Law.' The project aims to enhance public safety, protect lives and property, improve safety for road users, and enhance the traffic environment in the Kingdom, contributing to a reduction in fatalities and injuries resulting from traffic accidents. Public feedback on the project is open until October 15, 2026.
The Ministry of Municipalities and Housing has also put forward the project 'Table of Violations of the Public Facilities Protection Law within the Scope of Municipal Jurisdiction.' The project aims to enhance compliance with laws and regulations related to the sector and protect public facilities from encroachment. Public feedback on the project is open until October 15, 2026.
The platform also features the Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture's project 'The Executive Regulations for the Rules Related to the Basics of Calculating Compensation for Environmental Damages.' The project aims to establish a unified and clear regulatory framework for assessing environmental damage and calculating the resulting compensation and costs, as well as defining the necessary principles, criteria, and technical mechanisms. Public feedback on the project is open until October 15, 2026.
The introduction of draft laws, regulations, and similar projects through the Istitlaa platform reflects the Kingdom's continued commitment to enhancing transparency in the legislative environment, promoting a culture of public consultation among the general public, government entities, and the private sector, and engaging them in shaping projects related to the business environment.
