Barzani Discusses With Canadian Military Commander Military Cooperation During And After The War On Terrorism

BAGHDAD, The Advisor of the Security Council of the Kurdistan Region, Masroor Barzani in Erbil met with Commander of the Special Operations Forces of Canada, General Peter Do, and discussed with him military cooperation during and after the war on terrorism.

A statement issued by Barzani's office said that Barzani met with the commander of the Special Operations Forces of Canada, General Peter Do, and during the meeting, they discussed the latest developments and security participation between the Peshmerga forces and the coalition in the Kurdistan region. He expressed his thanks to the Canadian government for their support and assistance to the Kurdistan region in the war on the terrorists, and expressed satisfaction with the assertion of General Du on the continuation of his country's dealing with the Kurdistan region as a partner even after the end of the war on terrorism.

The statement said that "the meeting discussed the factors that led to the escalation of terrorist movements in Kirkuk, Diyala, Mosul and Anbar.. "

He pointed out that the two sides discussed "efforts to form the Iraqi government reflect the hopes and demands of the main components and citizens."
