Riyadh: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA): has urged all taxpayers to take advantage of the cancellation of fines and exemption of penalties initiative, available until June 30, 2025.
According to Saudi Press Agency, ZATCA clarified that the exemption covers fines for late registration, late payment, and late filing of returns across all tax laws. It also includes fines for correcting VAT returns, as well as penalties related to VAT field control violations, the application of e-invoicing regulations, and other general VAT regulations.
The initiative requires taxpayers to be registered with the tax system, submit any previously unfiled returns to ZATCA, and settle all outstanding principal tax debt related to those returns in order to benefit from the exemption.
Taxpayers can also apply for an installment plan with ZATCA, provided the application is submitted while the initiative is active, and all installments are paid on time according to the schedule approved by the authority. The initiative does not cover penalties related to tax evasion violations or fines that were paid before the initiative’s start date.
ZATCA has encouraged taxpayers to review the initiative details through the simplified guidelines available on its website. These guidelines provide a comprehensive explanation of key aspects, including the types of penalties covered, the conditions for benefiting from the exempt fines, the steps for managing installment payments, and information on field control violations.
ZATCA urges all taxpayers to take advantage of the initiative following its extension. For any inquiries, ZATCA encourages taxpayers to reach out via the unified call center available 24/7 (19993), the X Account (@Zatca_Care), email ([email protected]), or through live chat on the ZATCA website (zatca.gov.sa).
