The zakat:arbi reported that the illicit cargo arrived in a shipment declared as charcoal. During routine customs procedures, inspectors using advanced security technologies and canine units discovered the millions of pills concealed within bags of charcoal.

According to Saudi Press Agency, following the seizure, ZATCA coordinated with the General Directorate of Narcotics Control, leading to the apprehension of the intended recipient within the Kingdom. Al-Harbi reaffirmed that ZATCA remains vigilant at all ports of entry, tightening control over imports and exports to protect society and curb the smuggling of prohibited substances.

The authority emphasized that protecting the national economy and society is a collective responsibility.
