Al-Batha: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at the Al-Batha border crossing has successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 1,364,706 Captagon pills that were hidden in a shipment of air conditioners arriving in the Kingdom.

According to Saudi Press Agency, ZATCA stated that the shipment was inspected through customs procedures, security technologies, and live inspection methods, which led to the discovery of the large quantity of narcotic pills concealed within it.

The authority reiterated its continued efforts to strengthen customs control of imports and exports in the Kingdom, vowing to remain firm against smuggling attempts in line with the core pillars of its strategy, which aims to enhance security and protect society by preventing illegal trafficking.

ZATCA has urged the public to help combat smuggling and protect society and the national economy by contacting the authority’s designated number for security reports at 1910, via e-mail [email protected], or the international number 009661910. The authority treats reports related to smuggling crimes and violations of the Common Customs Law with strict confidentiality, offering a financial reward to the informer if the information proves accurate.
