Riyadh: The Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) at Al-Haditha border crossing has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 36,773 amphetamine pills hidden inside a bus entering the Kingdom.
According to Saudi Press Agency, ZATCA spokesperson Hamoud Al-Harbi reported that inspectors uncovered the pills concealed in a specially designed compartment beneath the vehicle during security screenings. Al-Harbi emphasized the authority's commitment to securing the Kingdom's borders and curbing illicit trafficking in close coordination with the Ministry of Interior and the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.
ZATCA urged the public to assist in combating smuggling by reporting suspicious activities confidentially via 1910, email ([email protected]), or international line (+9661910), noting that financial rewards are provided for verified reports.
