Yemeni Parliament Supports Saudi Ministry’s Statement on Yemen

Sanaa: The Yemeni House of Representatives praised the statement issued by the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and its declared positions, commending the measures and steps it has taken across various aspects out of its continued concern for Yemen's security, stability, and unity, the integrity of its territory, and the decent living of its people.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the house affirmed full support for the procedures and decisions issued by the Presidential Leadership Council and its chairman, including the declaration of a state of emergency and the measures taken by the National Defense Council, describing them as legal steps aimed at protecting the state and preserving security and stability.

The house called on the Transitional Council to immediately halt all illegal military movements, withdraw from sites and camps seized outside state authority and fully comply with decisions and directives of the Presidential Leadership Council as the country's highest executive authority. It also urged the council to resort to political dialogue, refrain from using force to impose a fait accompli, and enable state institutions to carry out their constitutional duties in maintaining security and public order.

In a statement carried by the Yemen News Agency (Saba), the house said the Transitional Council's actions, backed by external parties, do not serve the path of state-building or achieve stability. It said those actions undermine political efforts, deepen divisions, weaken state institutions, and harm the supreme national interest.

The house urged the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to be part of the solution and to help Yemenis emerge from their crises. It called on the UAE to safeguard the national security of its brotherly and partner states in the Gulf Cooperation Council, foremost among them Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman, stressing that this should be done urgently and swiftly.
