According to Saudi Press Agency, the plant, an annual herbaceous plant belonging to the mustard family (Brassicaceae), is a focus of the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Royal Reserve Development Authority as part of its ongoing efforts to protect vegetation cover and conserve wildlife. The 'Yahaq' herb is characterized by distinctive morphological features, growing up to 50 centimeters tall with basal leaves forming a stalked rosette and striking purple flowers that reflect the reserve's rich natural diversity.

The care and conservation of native plants such as the "Yahaq" herb underscore the reserve's role in preserving ecological balance, sustaining its natural resources, and highlighting the environmental, tourism, and development assets of its unique ecosystem.
