Wrth Showcases Artwork at NEOM Bay Airport

Qassim: The Royal Institute of Traditional Arts (Wrth) has announced the display of a new artwork that embodies the cultural dialogue between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Brazil. The piece is exhibited at NEOM Bay Airport as part of Wrth's initiatives to showcase Saudi traditional arts in public spaces and strengthen their presence.

According to Saudi Press Agency, titled 'Insijam' (Harmony), the artwork reflects the meeting of Saudi and Brazilian traditional arts through a circular visual composition that interweaves textiles, geometric patterns, and nature-inspired motifs. The piece expresses the richness and diversity of identity through materials, colors, and visual details distinctive to both cultures.

Standing four meters tall, the artwork took over 400 hours to complete and incorporates elements such as pearls, crystals, and traditional textiles-blending craftsmanship with a contemporary artistic vision.

The artwork was handcrafted with the participation of Wrth student Haya Al-Naima, alongside Sara Al-Jasser and Sara Al-Harbi from Saudi Arabia, and Brazilian artist Carmen Lenartovich. This collaborative effort represents a creative experience that reflects the spirit of cultural exchange between the two countries.

This artwork aligns with Wrth's direction to present Saudi traditional arts in airports as cultural platforms that welcome visitors and introduce them to the Kingdom's identity. Previously, Wrth presented two artworks at King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh (Terminal 5): 'Sulalat Teen' in 2024 and 'Al-Wahda' (Unity) in 2025.

In addition, the artwork 'Insidal' (2026) is currently on display at Cairo International Airport (Al-Fursan Lounge), as part of the institute's efforts to enhance the presence of Saudi traditional arts in public spaces regionally and internationally.

Wrth is a leading entity dedicated to promoting national identity and enriching Saudi traditional arts locally and globally. It works to preserve their authenticity, support national talents and practitioners, honor distinguished pioneers and living treasures, and encourage wider audiences to learn, master, and develop traditional arts.
