Malham: The world’s most attended cybersecurity event Black Hat Middle East and Africa is poised for its third edition at the Riyadh Exhibition and Convention Center in Malham, north of Riyadh, from November 26 to 28.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the 2024 edition event is organized by the Saudi Federation for Cybersecurity, Programming and Drones and Tahaluf, a strategic joint venture between the federation, Informa PLC, and the Events Investment Fund. Chairman of the federation’s board of directors Faisal Alkhamisi stated: “Hosting events like Black Hat MEA in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia embodies the Kingdom’s ambition for leadership in the field of cybersecurity, aligning with Vision 2030.”
He underlined the Kingdom’s aspiration to enhance a secure digital environment that supports global cooperation in cybersecurity, fosters innovation, and boosts professionals’ capabilities through various initiatives, including this upcoming event. This year’s edition is set to feature over 300 speakers, 450 exhibi
tors, and 350 workshops, with the participation of numerous cybersecurity experts.
The event’s Activity Zone, sponsored by Haboob, is offering prizes totaling over SAR2 million for participants and visitors. It is hosting more than 10 challenges, including smart home hacking, medical device hacking, infrastructure challenges, lock picking contest, truck hacking, among others. Black Hat will also hold the world’s largest edition of the Capture the Flag tournament, offering prizes amounting to SAR790,000, including SAR90,000 allocated exclusively for Saudi teams. Additionally, the event will feature the Bug Bounty Cup, awarding up to SAR300,000 in prizes and presenting challenges designed for both professionals and newcomers.
