World Cup 2026: Brazilian Referee Raphael Claus Appointed for Saudi Arabia vs. Spain Match

Baku: FIFA has appointed a Latin American officiating crew for the Saudi national team's match against Spain, scheduled for next Sunday in the second round of the group stage of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The officiating team will be led by Brazilian referee Raphael Claus, with fellow Brazilians Danilo Manis and Rodrigo Figueiredo serving as assistant referees. Colombian official Andres Rojas will oversee video review duties, assisted by compatriot Alexander Guzman.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Claus is regarded as one of South America's leading referees and has been a FIFA international referee since 2015. During his career, he has officiated 616 matches, including 262 in the Brazilian league and 41 in the Copa Libertadores.
