WHO Calls for Entry of Medical Supplies to Gaza

Geneva, The World Health Organization (WHO) called for safe entry of fuel and life-saving health supplies to major hospitals in Gaza amid deteriorating health system in the strip.

WHO called for an immediate ceasefire for humanitarian reasons to allow the delivery of medical supplies to health facilities in northern Gaza and to Al-Shifa Hospital, where bed capacity has reached 150 percent.

WHO also said that Indonesian hospital in Gaza had to shut down due to lack of fuel while the Turkish Friendship hospital is operating partially also due to lack of fuel, thus risking the lives of 2,000 cancer patients.

The UN organization also said that many hospitals in Gaza have closed due to damage from bombardment.
