Riyadh: The National Center for the Prevention and Control of Plant Pests and Animal Diseases (Weqaa) participated in the Saudi International Organic Products Exhibition ‘BIOFACH SAUDI ARABIA 2025’ held in Riyadh. Weqaa set up an informational pavilion that focused on its initiatives to promote plant health and pest prevention through integrated pest management and the adoption of cutting-edge technologies.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the exhibition was inaugurated by Vice Minister of Environment, Water and Agriculture Mansour Al Mushaiti. He visited Weqaa’s pavilion to examine the center’s significant initiatives and programs in biological prevention and control. These initiatives include the local production of beneficial organisms, which play a crucial role in decreasing the dependency on chemical pesticides and fostering agricultural sustainability.

The pavilion also showcased Weqaa’s efforts in producing biological control agents and bumblebee colonies, which are essential natural pollinators in organic farming. These efforts are vital for enhancing agricultural productivity and maintaining ecological balance. They also support the Kingdom’s objectives for food security and environmental protection as outlined in Saudi Vision 2030.
