Riyadh: The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance has launched a Hajj water supply project in the Namirah Mosque’s courtyards in Arafat: This initiative is a key part of the ministry’s development projects for the Hajj season 1446 AH, aimed at improving service efficiency in mosques of the holy sites and providing pilgrims with a seamless religious experience using the best technical means.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the project’s primary objective is to provide cool drinking water to pilgrims and effectively reduce heat stress. It involves the installation and operation of 70 state-of-the-art water cooling units, each with a production capacity of 1,000 liters per hour. These units are strategically distributed throughout the mosque’s back courtyards, ensuring seamless integration with existing canopy and water spray projects designed to mitigate temperatures and enhance the overall environment for pilgrims.

The project also includes the implementation of a comprehensive drinking water supply network and a sewage network, ensuring that all coolers operate according to the highest health and technical standards. Each cooler is capable of serving up to 2,000 pilgrims per hour, collectively providing water for an estimated 140,000 pilgrims per hour across the entire project.
