Makkah: King Abdullah Medical City (KAMC) in Makkah, a key part of the Makkah Health Cluster, has launched an advanced remote health monitoring service using smartwatches to support pilgrims, particularly those treated through the Seha Virtual Hospital, enhancing digital healthcare and ensuring continuous supervision of the pilgrims’ well-being.

According to Saudi Press Agency, KAMC is currently monitoring a pilgrim from Bangladesh who underwent urgent and successful surgery at its Cardiac Center following a severe heart attack. The specialized medical team now continues to track his condition remotely through vital indicators transmitted by a smartwatch, allowing him to complete his Hajj rituals with his group.

The innovative technology utilizes an advanced smartwatch designed to resemble a traditional one, ensuring patient privacy and comfort without drawing unwanted attention or causing feelings of isolation. This approach provides significant psychological reassurance, complementing critical medical care.
