Riyadh: Vice Minister of Health for Planning and Development Eng. Abdulaziz Hamad AlRamaih participated in the 2025 Budget Forum, where he highlighted the success of the Seha Virtual Hospital, an innovative initiative by the Ministry of Health aimed at achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. This project focuses on enhancing quality of life and delivering comprehensive, accessible healthcare services to all.
According to Saudi Press Agency, Eng. AlRamaih explained that the Seha Virtual Hospital, launched in February 2022, provides support services to more than 200 hospitals and over 2,000 health centers across Saudi Arabia. Beneficiaries can access instant consultations and virtual appointments through the Sehhaty application, with an average waiting time of less than a minute. To date, the hospital has facilitated over 51 million appointments and consultations, significantly benefiting individuals in remote or hard-to-reach areas.
Highlighting the hospital’s critical contributions, Eng. AlRamaih stated:
‘We have saved more than 5,000 stroke cases due to the rapid response enabled by specialized consultants. Additionally, we have enhanced operational efficiency by enabling services to at least five hospitals in different regions, compared to being previously limited to one hospital.’
He concluded by noting the Seha Virtual Hospital’s world record achievement, having been recognized by the Guinness Book of Records as the largest virtual health hospital globally. This milestone underscores the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to advance its healthcare sector and position Saudi Arabia as a leader in global health innovation.
