UNWTO Secretary General Commends Kingdom’s 73% Growth in Incoming Tourists

Secretary General of the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) Zurab Pololikashvili praised the significant development of Saudi Arabia's tourism sector, as the Kingdom achieved a 73% growth in the number of international tourists arriving in Saudi Arabia during the first seven months of 2024, compared to the same period in 2019. This growth placed Saudi Arabia at the forefront of G20 countries regarding the growth rate of international tourist numbers and international tourism revenues. Also, international tourism revenues saw a remarkable increase of 207%, according to the UNWTO Barometer released in September 2024. Pololikashvili noted that the 73% rise in international tourist arrivals during the first seven months of 2024, as highlighted in the latest UNWTO Barometer, demonstrates Saudi Arabia's growing global influence.
