Washington, UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator, Martin Griffiths, has emphasized that the situation in Gaza has reached its most critical point to date. Griffiths arrived in the occupied Palestinian territories amidst ongoing hostilities by Israeli occupation forces, which have been ongoing for over three weeks.
In a press statement, Griffiths expressed his intention to engage with all parties involved to explore ways of expanding the humanitarian response. He called on all sides to release hostages, prioritize the protection of civilians regardless of their location, ensure the urgent and safe delivery of aid on a large scale, and adhere to international humanitarian law.
