Beijing: The UNESCO Regional Center for Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE) participated in the Global Smart Education Conference (GSE 2026), held in Beijing, China, from August 18 to 20.

According to Saudi Press Agency, RCQE was represented by an official delegation led by Director General Abdulrahman Al-Mudaires. The conference brought together education leaders, policymakers, experts, researchers, and representatives of international organizations, universities, and leading research institutions.

RCQE's participation coincided with its joining the Global Smart Education Network (GSENet) and attending the GSENet Partners Meeting 2026. These steps strengthen the center's presence at the regional and international levels and support its contribution to the global dialogue on the future of education. Key areas include artificial intelligence (AI), digital transformation, innovation, and the development of higher-quality, more equitable, and sustainable education systems.

RCQE showcased several of its scientific and development initiatives, notably the Arab Model for Quality and Excellence in Education and the 'Teacher We Want' project. It also presented findings from a study on the impact of AI use on education quality. The study provides an evidence-based Arab framework to guide the responsible and effective integration of AI into education systems.

The participation reflects RCQE's commitment to representing the Arab region on international platforms and bringing its priorities and aspirations to the global dialogue. It also strengthens the integration of Arab expertise with international practices. These efforts contribute to building resilient and innovative education systems that place people at the heart of technological transformation and harness AI to advance education quality and improve outcomes for learners.
