Abu Dhabi: The King Faisal Center for Research and Islamic Studies’ (KFCRIS) UNESCO Chair in Translating Cultures took a prominent role at the 34th Abu Dhabi International Book Fair, from April 26 to May 5, 2025, by showcasing a dedicated section within Saudi Arabia’s pavilion.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the pavilion focused on the objectives of the UNESCO Chair in Translating Cultures, highlighting the languages it emphasizes and the themes for this year: ‘Translating Cultures in the Age of Artificial Intelligence’ and ‘Translating Cultures and Intangible Heritage.’

Professor Moneera Al-Ghadeer, head of the UNESCO Chair in Translating Cultures, attended the event and held meetings to present the chair’s conceptual framework and objectives, which aim to promote cultural research and cooperation. She collaborated with researchers and specialists to discuss this year’s themes and explore opportunities for collaboration and participation in the Chair’s initiatives.

Al-Ghadeer noted that participating in the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair offered a strategic opportunity to introduce the chair’s initiatives and foster collaboration with research institutions focused on translation studies, cultural studies, intangible heritage, the humanities, and artificial intelligence.
