Two Holy Mosques General Authority Develops Luggage Storage, Lost-and-Found Services for Pilgrims

Mecca: The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque continues developing the support services system for visitors to the two holy mosques through implementing an integrated operational plan to modernize luggage storage services and the handling of lost and left-behind items, facilitating the movement of pilgrims, Umrah performers, and visitors while enhancing levels of comfort and organization within the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the development work included expanding the scope of luggage storage centers and lost-and-found areas. The number of main centers was increased to six, while service locations were expanded to six sites strategically distributed to cover a larger segment of beneficiaries and ensure easy access to services in the most densely populated areas.

The plan also included updating luggage reception and delivery mechanisms through more efficient operational procedures aimed at accelerating services and reducing waiting times, in addition to applying organizational and technical standards to ensure the accuracy and safety of luggage storage and facilitate the return of belongings to their owners.

On the awareness side, the authority intensified its media and guidance efforts to introduce the service and explain how to benefit from it through awareness messages, digital screens, and various media platforms.

The authority also sought to enhance the capabilities of service providers and train them according to the highest operational standards, improving service quality, response speed, and professional interaction with beneficiaries, while supporting the service with qualified field teams to handle lost and left-behind items according to precise and organized procedures.
