Mecca: The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque is organizing the ‘First House’ exhibition during the 1446 AH Hajj season. The exhibition is held in the Third Saudi Expansion of the Grand Mosque, opposite King Abdullah Gate (Gate No. 100), with the aim of highlighting the historical development of the Holy Kaaba from the time of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) to the present day.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the authority has invited pilgrims and visitors to the Grand Mosque to explore the exhibition and engage with its unique content, designed to enrich their cultural and spiritual experience. The exhibition presents several key themes, including the story of the Kaaba’s construction, the structural changes it has undergone over the centuries, the tools used in its maintenance and washing, the stages of making the Kiswa (black covering), and an overview of the Kaaba’s architectural features.

Open daily from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., the exhibition is part of the authority’s broader efforts to educate Muslims about the history of the Grand Mosque and its sacred landmarks. It incorporates interactive technologies that allow visitors to explore in-depth details about the Kaaba and its history, thereby enhancing the overall experience of pilgrims and guests.
