Two Earthquakes Kill 32 in Caracas

Caracas: A total of 32 people were killed, and around 700 were injured yesterday after two powerful earthquakes struck the Venezuelan capital, Caracas, causing widespread destruction across the city and surrounding areas.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Venezuela's Acting President Delcy Rodr­guez said today that dozens of buildings had collapsed and that the government is working intensively to save as many people as possible.

The U.S. Geological Survey reported that a 7.2 magnitude earthquake struck about 160 kilometers west of Caracas, followed less than a minute later by a second earthquake measuring 7.5 magnitude.
