Riyadh: The Transport General Authority has called on providers of land, rail, and maritime transport services to register on the National Data Governance Platform, managed by the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA). This call is in accordance with article two of the regulations governing the national registry, which aims to establish a unified national system for monitoring compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law and its executive regulations.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the platform serves as a key tool for ensuring compliance with personal data protection laws by assisting entities and individuals in meeting their obligations. This includes access to a range of services, such as the self-assessment compliance tool, a reporting service for personal data breaches, and a privacy impact assessment.
The authority emphasized that transport service providers must register on the platform to ensure compliance. Registration can be completed by visiting the following link: https://dgp.sdaia.gov.sa/wps/portal/pdp/Registration/private.
Failure to register will be considered a violation, subject to penalties as outlined in article 36 of the law.
