Thunderstorms and Gusty Winds Expected in Parts of Saudi Arabia

Riyadh: Thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds are anticipated in several regions of Saudi Arabia on Saturday.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the National Center for Meteorology has forecasted weather disturbances, particularly in the highlands of Jazan, Aseer, and Al-Baha, extending to the southern highlands of the Makkah Region. Gusty winds and blowing dust are likely to persist in parts of Makkah and Madinah regions, with coastal areas expected to be notably affected.

The expected wind conditions over the Red Sea include northwesterly to northerly winds in the northern and central parts, reaching speeds of 20-45 km/h, and northwesterly to westerly winds in the southern part at speeds of 12-32 km/h. Wave heights may vary from half a meter to two meters, creating slight to moderate sea conditions.

In the Arabian Gulf, winds are predicted to be southeasterly to southwesterly in the northern part at speeds of 10-25 km/h, and northwesterly to southwesterly in the central and southern parts at speeds of 10-35 km/h. Waves are expected to range from half a meter to one and a half meters, indicating relatively calm sea conditions.
