Thunderstorms and Flash Floods Expected in Riyadh and Eastern Regions

Riyadh: Moderate to heavy thunderstorms are anticipated in parts of Riyadh and the Eastern regions, potentially leading to flash floods, hail, and dust-stirring winds.

According to Saudi Press Agency, light to moderate rain is expected in parts of Makkah, Al-Baha, Aseer, Jazan, Qassim, Northern Borders, Al-Jouf, and Tabuk regions. There is also a possibility of fog in these areas, as well as in Madinah and Hail regions.

Winds over the Red Sea will vary, with northwesterly to northerly directions in the northern and central parts, and southeasterly to southerly directions in the southern part, reaching speeds of 15-50 km/h. Wave heights will range from half a meter to over two meters, causing the sea to be calm to choppy.

In the Arabian Gulf, winds will shift from southerly to southwesterly, transitioning at night to northwesterly to northerly in the northern and central parts at speeds of 12-60 km/h. In the southern part, winds will be southeasterly to southerly at speeds of 10-28 km/h. Waves are expected to be between half a meter to over two and a half meters, making sea conditions calm to choppy.
