Thunderstorms and Dust-Stirring Winds Expected Across Several Saudi Regions

Riyadh: Moderate to heavy thunderstorms, accompanied by hail and dust-stirring winds, are forecasted to impact several regions of Saudi Arabia, potentially leading to flash floods in parts of Jazan, Aseer, Al-Baha, and Makkah.

According to Saudi Press Agency, these weather conditions are expected to bring significant disruptions, with dust-stirring winds also predicted to affect areas in the Eastern, Riyadh, Najran, and Makkah regions. The temperatures across the eastern and central parts of the Kingdom will continue to be hot to extremely hot, posing additional challenges to residents.

The wind patterns over the Red Sea are anticipated to vary, with northwesterly winds reaching speeds of 15-38 km/h in the northern part, and shifting from northwesterly to southwesterly at 10-48 km/h in the central and southern parts. This will result in wave heights ranging from half a meter to two meters, causing the sea condition to fluctuate from relatively calm to choppy.

In the Arabian Gulf, northerly to northwesterly winds are expected to blow at speeds of 20-50 km/h. The wave heights will vary between one meter and two meters, leading to a sea state that will be calm to choppy.
