Riyadh: Participants in the third Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) “Khair Ummah” Conference, organized here by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance, issued a final communique emphasizing Islam’s foundation in worshiping Allah and following the teachings of the Prophet (peace be upon him), urging Muslims to promote moderation and strive for the nation’s betterment.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the participants called on scholars to uphold Islam’s tolerant values and correct misinterpretations of religious discourse. They stressed the importance of following the path of the Prophet’s companions, combating extremism, and rejecting groups that exploit religion for personal gain.
They further emphasized the significance of utilizing contemporary media and technology to promote Islam, counter falsehoods through research, and develop programs that instil Islamic values and tolerance in youth.
The conference focused on research papers from various scholars, aiming to strengthen communication among Islamic leaders and institutions to enhance their role in advancing human civilization.
