The President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the Turkish attacks on Iraqi lands are unacceptable and that the repeated violations contradict the principles of good neighborliness, especially if they are with weapons that are used only for open wars, such as drones.
The Presidential Media Office said in a statement, “The President of the Republic received at Baghdad Palace the Second Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Shakhwan Abdullah, the Minister of Environment, Nizar Muhammad Saeed, a number of heads of parliamentary blocs, and members of the House of Representatives, in addition to a number of officials.”
The President of the Republic stressed the importance of cooperation among political forces in order to support the government in implementing its ministerial program and consolidating and sustaining the achieved security and stability.
The President of the Republic touched on "the recent visit of the Kurdish delegation to Baghdad and the understanding that took place between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government regarding the disbursement of the salaries of the region's employees, which demonstrates the will of both sides and their common aspiration to find appropriate solutions to the outstanding issues in accordance with the constitution and the law.”
The President of the Republic added, "The new Iraq believes in dialogue as a language of understanding and resolving problems and outstanding issues between the two sides through coordination and common understanding."
He stressed "the importance of strengthening the economic situation in the country, by encouraging investments from international companies specialized in construction, reconstruction and basic infrastructure related to the requirements of citizens, as well as enhancing the important role of the private sector in developing the economy in the country and providing job opportunities for young people."
For their part, the members of the House of Representatives expressed their thanks and appreciation to the President of the Republic for this invitation, appreciating the President’s proposals regarding the necessity of establishing security and stability in the country, and joint work among all in order to support the government in implementing its ministerial program.
