The Minister of Culture discusses with the President of the Arab Tourism Organization ways to develop the tourism sector in Iraq

Baghdad, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Antiquities, Hassan Nadhem, discussed with the Head of the Arab Organization for Tourism, Bandar bin Fahd Al Fehaid, ways to develop the tourism sector in Iraq.

A statement by the Ministry of Culture stated that, the Minister met with the President of the Arab Tourism Organization at the Arab State University Bandar bin Fahd Al Fehaid, during an official visit to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to discuss signing a memorandum of understanding for tourism with the organization, and to discuss ways to develop the tourism sector in Iraq.

According to the statement, the meeting dealt with aspects of enhancing tourism cooperation between the Ministry and the Organization as the academic arm of the Arab Ministerial Council for Tourism in the League of Arab States, and the agreement to lay down a map that includes initiatives to develop the Iraqi tourism sector and work to attract investors to rehabilitate and develop Iraqi tourism facilities, as well as endeavor to organize a virtual workshop for all regional and global investors, and banks, especially Saudi businessmen. "

The meeting also discussed assisting Iraq in preparing a national tourism strategy and assisting the ministry in obtaining study places in tourist universities.

The statement added that the two sides agreed to hold a memorandum of understanding for tourism, while Al Fehaid presented the shield of the organization to the Minister of Culture.

The meeting was attended by the Chairman of the Tourism Authority, Zafer Mahdi Abdullah, and the Director General of the Department of Cultural Relations, Falah Al-Ani .
