The government calls on the international community to cancel the occupation government’s decision to close the Kerem Shalom crossing

Tuesday, Minister of National Economy Khaled Asili called on the international community to pressure the Israeli occupation government to cancel the collective punishment decision to prevent the marketing of Gaza Strip products in the West Bank after it closed the Kerem Shalom commercial crossing, the only outlet for the Strip.

The minister described the Israeli decision as unjust and in addition to the policy of collective punishment pursued by the Israeli occupation government since 2007. The Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip has caused a deep humanitarian and economic crisis.

The minister held the Israeli occupation government accountable for the repercussions of this decision, which inflicts heavy losses on the private sector and its various components, and deprives merchants, farmers, and manufacturers of marketing their products, which disrupts production and operation
