Riyadh: The Transport General Authority (TGA) reported today that its inspection teams stopped eight foreign trucks illegally transporting goods within the Kingdom in April 2025. As part of ongoing efforts to strengthen oversight and ensure regulatory compliance, each truck incurred a fine of SAR10,000.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the authority emphasized its strict enforcement of regulations, stating that any foreign truck found transporting goods illegally within the Kingdom would face a SAR10,000 fine and impoundment for 15 days for the first offense. Penalties escalate for repeat violations: a SAR20,000 fine and 30-day impoundment for the second offense; a SAR40,000 fine and 60-day impoundment for the third; and a SAR80,000 fine and 60-day impoundment for the fourth. A fifth violation will result in a SAR160,000 fine and a 60-day impoundment. The authority also warned that trucks repeatedly violating regulations may be confiscated.

TGA further detailed that its inspection teams conducted 1,552 field inspections across the Kingdom in April 2025, identifying 1,462 violations. Riyadh recorded the highest number of violations with 462, followed by Aseer with 216, Qassim with 212, Makkah with 183, Madinah with 96, Eastern Region with 87, Tabuk with 61, and Hail with 50. The remaining 95 violations were distributed among other regions and cities.
