Riyadh: The Transport General Authority (TGA) began today implementing a decision requiring parcel delivery companies not to accept or transport any postal shipment that does not include a National Address, confirming that regulatory penalties will be enforced against companies that fail to comply with the decision, according to a press release issued by the TGA today.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the authority explained that implementing this decision is part of its efforts to regulate the parcel delivery sector, enhance the efficiency of delivery operations, improve the quality of services provided to beneficiaries, and reduce unnecessary communication between delivery couriers and customers.

The release added that the TGA clarified that the current phase includes the enforcement of financial fines against companies that do not comply with the requirement not to accept shipments without a National Address, in accordance with the relevant regulatory frameworks. It noted that fines start at SAR5,000 and may reach up to SAR50,000 for non-compliant companies, contributing to higher levels of compliance, smoother operational processes, and improved sector quality.

It also called on all companies operating in the postal parcel transport activity to adhere to the approved instructions and ensure that all shipments include a National Address, supporting the sustainability of the parcel transport sector and enhancing the beneficiary experience across all regions of the Kingdom.
