Taif: Taif Governorate is celebrated for its historic markets that serve as a nexus between past, present, and future. Some of these markets are over 450 years old; they are popular spots for tourists and leisure activities.

According to Saudi Press Agency, at Taif’s age-old markets, visitors encounter a diverse array of goods, from essential household items like barley, millet, corn, ghee, honey, to dates. Shops open their doors early every day, clustered around the city’s gates.

Socializing is a key aspect of Taif’s marketplaces, where locals gather to discuss current events. These markets are living remnants of past commercial pursuits, providing a window into ancestral lifestyles.

Social researcher Sultan Alsufyani told a Saudi Press Agency reporter that the development projects in Taif’s historic markets have created a vibrant cultural and recreational atmosphere, driving the market’s economic growth and tourist appeal.

al, recreational, and commercial point of view. He also said that the improvements and environmental undertakings by Taif Municipality have benefitted investors and visitors, while preserving the markets’ unique architectural identity.
