According to Saudi Press Agency, at Taif’s age-old markets, visitors encounter a diverse array of goods, from essential household items like barley, millet, corn, ghee, honey, to dates. Shops open their doors early every day, clustered around the city’s gates.
Socializing is a key aspect of Taif’s marketplaces, where locals gather to discuss current events. These markets are living remnants of past commercial pursuits, providing a window into ancestral lifestyles.
Social researcher Sultan Alsufyani told a Saudi Press Agency reporter that the development projects in Taif’s historic markets have created a vibrant cultural and recreational atmosphere, driving the market’s economic growth and tourist appeal.
