Taif: The seventh edition of the Crown Prince Camel Festival, organized by Saudi Camel Sports, kicks off today at the Taif Camel Square in Taif.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the festival’s schedule was announced on August 2 and includes 249 rounds in the camel categories, along with five rounds of men’s and women’s camel races. The total prize pool exceeds SAR50 million.
Taif Camel Square stands out as the only venue among the 45 camel racing tracks in the Kingdom equipped with solar-powered lighting for both the main and secondary tracks. These facilities are utilized during the Crown Prince Camel Festival and other championships.
The Crown Prince Camel Festival, which was launched in 2018, has become a significant annual event on the Kingdom’s heritage and sporting calendar. It aims to preserve and promote the heritage of camels, an integral part of Saudi culture, and has attracted growing interest from camel racing fans and enthusiasts from both inside and outside the Kingdom.
In its past editions, the festival has garnered five local and international awards, including four Guinness World Records titles.
