Syrian President Meets Saudi Minister of Culture in Damascus

Damascus: Syrian Arab Republic President Ahmed al-Sharaa met with Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Farhan at the Conference Palace in Damascus. The meeting occurred during the opening ceremony of the Damascus International Book Fair 2026, where Saudi Arabia is the Guest of Honor.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Minister of Culture began the meeting by delivering greetings from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. They expressed their wishes for the continued health and well-being of President al-Sharaa and for ongoing progress and prosperity for the Syrian Arab Republic and its people. The Minister also extended congratulations to the president on the hosting of the Damascus International Book Fair 2026.

The discussions highlighted the depth of the fraternal relations between Syria and Saudi Arabia and emphasized the importance of enhancing cultural cooperation between the two nations.

The meeting was attended on the Saudi side by Advisor at the Royal Court Mohammed Al-Tuwaijri, among other officials.
