Supreme Court Urges Sighting Shawwal Crescent Saturday Evening

Riyadh: The Supreme Court has called on Muslims across Saudi Arabia to sight the crescent of Shawwal moon Saturday evening, Ramadan 29, 1446 AH, corresponding to March 29, 2025.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the Supreme Court announced today that individuals who spot the crescent moon, whether by naked eyes or through binoculars, should report to the nearest court to register their testimony. This call is part of the annual observance to determine the start of the month of Shawwal, which marks the end of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid al-Fitr.

The announcement encourages participation from the public to ensure accurate reporting and determination of the new lunar month. The sighting of the crescent moon is a significant event in the Islamic calendar, as it dictates the timing of important religious observances.
