Suhail Nights Festival Celebrates Tradition, Childhood Memories in Northern Borders

Northern borders: The Suhail Nights Festival in the Northern Borders Region brought to life the rich traditions of past schooling experiences and children’s games, striking a chord with elderly visitors who were taken back to their own childhoods. The festival successfully engaged both older and younger generations, bridging the gap between the past and present.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the festival included a detailed reenactment of the “Mutawa,” the traditional teacher of old schools. This reenactment was complete with a wooden blackboard and simple teaching tools used historically for reading, writing, and memorizing the Holy Quran, offering a glimpse into the educational practices of the past.

Additionally, a special section of the festival was dedicated to popular games, where visitors could witness live demonstrations of traditional children’s toys. These toys were significant in shaping the childhoods of past generations and provided a nostalgic experience for many attendees, while also introducing younger visitors to these timeless pastimes.
