Jeddah: The skies over the Kingdom and the Arab world will feature a spectacular astronomical event visible to the naked eye, as a group of the brightest celestial bodies appears together above the eastern horizon this evening, beginning at 10:00 p.m. local time.

According to Saudi Press Agency, Jeddah Astronomy Society Director Majed Abu Zahra explained that the spectacle will be dominated by Sirius, the brightest star in the night sky, located in the constellation Canis Major. Together with Betelgeuse, these stars form what is known as the “Winter Triangle.”

He added that Jupiter will also shine brightly in the eastern sky as a steady white point that does not twinkle, making it easily distinguishable from stars and clearly observable even from urban areas.
