Strategic Partnership Between EU, SDRPY to Improve Livelihoods in Yemen

Riyadh: The European Union (EU) and the Saudi Development and Reconstruction Program for Yemen (SDRPY) announced the alignment of their efforts aimed at improving livelihoods in Yemen through investment in economic recovery programs and reforms, job creation, strengthening state institutions, and enhancing community resilience, including in the areas of food security, agriculture, electricity, water, and environmental sanitation.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the partnership comes within the framework of strengthening international cooperation to support the Republic of Yemen. Supporting improved access to water in Marib Governorate represents the first outcome of the strategic partnership.

Accordingly, the EU and SDRPY signed an agreement Monday with SILA Foundation to implement the project 'Enhancing Water Security in Marib Governorate,' with a total value exceeding SAR9 million. The project will cover nine areas across the districts of Marib Al-Wadi, Marib City, and Harib.

The signing reflects the EU and SDRPY's commitment to joint action and continuous coordination to improve living conditions for all Yemenis. Both sides agreed to continue coordination and explore additional opportunities for cooperation in the water sector, alongside joint development projects and initiatives in other sectors.
