Riyadh: stc Group signed a five-year framework agreement with Ericsson aimed at accelerating the deployment of advanced digital infrastructure and expanding the adoption of digital technologies across the Kingdom. Under the agreement, stc Group will obtain Ericsson’s latest solutions, including hardware and software for 5G technologies, cloud solutions, and advanced management services, as well as network and infrastructure support services, comprising products from other companies.
According to Saudi Press Agency, efforts are underway to accelerate the expansion of 5G networks and roll out advanced technologies such as 5G Standalone, 5G Advanced, and Massive MIMO radio technology, alongside stc’s use of Ericsson’s radio system products, cloud platforms, and network management solutions. The group had previously announced the success of the first trial in the Middle East and North Africa of the 7 GHz bandwidth enabled for 6G technologies, conducted with the support of the Communications, Space and Technology Commission.
Vice President for Supply Chains at stc Group Abdullah Alowini noted that the agreement reflects the commitment to supporting digital transformation and innovation in the Kingdom. He added that it also leverages the latest technologies to deliver advanced connectivity services that support customers, accelerate innovation in the business sector, and support the Kingdom’s ambitions to build a globally competitive digital economy.
