Riyadh: Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Cabinet Member, and Climate Envoy Adel Al-Jubeir met on Monday with Executive Secretary of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (UNCCD) Dr. Ibrahim Thiaw. The meeting occurred on the sidelines of the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties (COP16) of the UNCCD, which is being held in Riyadh.
According to Saudi Press Agency, the discussions between Al-Jubeir and Dr. Thiaw focused on enhancing the cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the UNCCD. They explored Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts and initiatives aimed at combating desertification, a pressing environmental challenge. Additionally, they addressed several key topics featured on the conference agenda, underscoring the Kingdom’s commitment to environmental sustainability.
