Sport Minister Attends Opening Ceremony of 4th Gulf Games Doha 2026

Doha: Minister of Sport and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal attended today the opening ceremony of the fourth edition of the Gulf Games Doha 2026, which was opened in the Qatari capital Doha by President of the Qatar Olympic Committee and President of the Olympic Council of Asia Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani. According to Saudi Press Agency, the event, which will continue until May 22, was also attended by Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee Prince Fahad bin Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, along with presidents of the Olympic committees of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries. The ceremony, held at Al Shaqab Indoor Arena, featured a parade of participating countries, in addition to several artistic and cultural performances reflecting the identity and heritage of the State of Qatar, as well as an operetta titled 'One Gulf.. One Heart,' highlighting the spirit of brotherhood and cooperation among the Gulf countries. Saudi fencing athlete Nada Abed and Saudi taekwondo athlete Riyad Hamdi carried the flag of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia during the opening ceremony.
