Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Shura Council Chairman, today chaired the 21st meeting of the first session of the Sixth Legislative Term.
The session approved the minutes of the previous meeting. Then, the meeting was notified about the correspondence received from Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, regarding a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Bahrain's Transportation and Telecommunications Minister, Mohammed bin Thamer Al-Kaabi, and Annadurdy Kosayev, the head of Türkmendenizderýaýollary (Turkmen Maritime and River Transport) Agency.
The Council was notified of the proposed decree to add a new article No. (16 bis) to Decree No. (17) of 2007 regarding vocational training and its referral to the Services Committee with notification to the Legislative and Legal Affairs Committee, which aims to achieve the principle of equal opportunities among citizens, in terms of paving the way for new Bahraini university graduates, to start their working life early, by receiving training in private sector companies that employ at least 50 workers And activating the social function of capital, as it represents its economic function within the framework of the obligations of social justice, as required by the Constitution.

The Council was also notified of the question addressed to the Minister of Finance and National Economy, submitted by member Dr. Jihad Abdullah Al-Fadhel regarding retirement systems and pension funds, and the Minister's response to it.
After that, the Council discussed the report of the Foreign Affairs, Defence and National Security Committee regarding a draft law ratifying the Artemis Accords on the principles of cooperation in civil exploration and the use of the Moon, Mars, comets and asteroids for peaceful purposes, attached to Decree (17) of 2022.
The committee’s rapporteur, Abdulrahman Jamsheer, affirmed that the bill aims to provide opportunities for cooperation and investment in the space sector, exchange information and experiences among member states, achieve scientific benefit through cooperation with NASA and other member states, as well as participate in projects of knowledge and economic feasibility, create educational and training opportunities in space sciences, in addition to participation in scientific research and space experiments to attain scientific achievements.
