Kuala lumpur: A research team from Shaqra University won two international awards at the Malaysia Technology Expo 2026, one of the leading global platforms specialized in showcasing innovations and advanced technologies, which witnessed wide participation from more than 30 countries and over 320 innovations and technological projects from around the world.

According to Saudi Press Agency, the research team's innovation, 'Ingatra,' received the gold medal at the exhibition, along with a special award from the Chinese Innovation and Invention Society (CIIS).

This achievement comes as a culmination of the efforts of the research team, which succeeded in developing a qualitative innovation named 'Ingatra,' a smart glasses system powered by artificial intelligence aimed at supporting and empowering persons with disabilities. The system, in its current phase, focuses on assisting individuals with cognitive disorders and includes a future vision to expand its use to support other groups within comprehensive technological solutions that take human diversity into account.
